ABOUT 

Sara-Ella Ozbek is a screenwriter and novelist. Her debut feature film JULIE shoots in 2025, directed by Josie Rourke (Mary Queen of Scots), produced by Rabbit’s Foot Films. For Working Title Films she has written PRINCIPAL, a feature biopic on Margot Fonteyn, starring Lily James, who co-produces alongside Gala Gordon. Also with Working Title in co-production with Likely Story, she is developing her debut novel THE HIGH MOMENTS (published Simon & Schuster in 2020) as a TV series. Currently, she is adapting Northern European Christmas hit ACCIDENTAL SANTA into a UK feature for Sony Pictures International. With producers Charles Finch (Priscilla) and Lorenzo Mieli (Challengers), she has irreverent comedy feature THREE SISTERS, with Ginevra Elkann (Magari) attached to direct. Also for Rabbit’s Foot Films she wrote original thriller BURIED ON THE BEACH. Sara-Ella’s second novel, NOTHING I WOULDN’T DO (published by Simon & Schuster in 2021) is in development for TV at Five Acts under ITV Studios with Sara-Ella adapting.

 

She is also active in the theatre space, as the book writer for a comedy musical about GRAYSON PERRY, set for a run at The Barbican in 2026, directed by Sean Foley (The Play What I Wrote) with music by Richard Thomas (Jerry Springer the Opera) and lyrics by Grayson Perry.

Sara-Ella has written non-fiction for Harper's Bazaar, The Independant, A Rabbit's Foot, Suitcase Magazine, Upstate Diary and Vogue.
